About MonsterPlex

MonsterPlex is an upcoming nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing music to everyone, including kids and underserved communities, with a mobile recording studio and live performance setup. Right now, our daily activities include organizing the nonprofit, working to put the concept in front of others, raising money, and music.

We plan to make this website a tremendous resource for music and will add more information in the coming weeks and days. We appreciate your patience. If you’re willing to help us with the process, we’d love to hear from you.

Imagine a mobile recording studio built inside a school bus, traveling across the country to bring free music education, jam sessions, and live performances to kids and underserved communities.

My name is Burlimonster, music is my life. I’ve spent years playing, writing, and recording music, even building three semi-professional studios (including two inside RVs!). After watching School of Rock for the umpteenth time, I saw a local school bus for sale and had a wild idea. Let’s build a skoolie studio dedicated to opening doors, building confidence, and inspiring communities through music. Completely free of charge! We’ll call it MonsterPlex (I’ll explain the name later).

To get this mobile movement on the road, early donations will fund the purchase of the bus, building materials, a workspace, specialized labor, and the official launch of the MonsterPlex nonprofit. Once we can demonstrate community impact, we plan to secure corporate sponsorships for ongoing costs and improvements. Right now, our biggest hurdles are building the physical bus and building social momentum.

What’s in a name? MonsterPlex is a play on many things, actually. Burlimonster has used “monster” as an endearing term for his family and friends for over a decade. Monster is also used in the music industry to signify a hit song. Our use of the word,”plex,” doesn’t come from the software company or the word “complex.” It simply means multiple; as in group – or in our case, community.
